Service Description

If you've received a positive result on a pregnancy test and are looking for a more definitive confirmation, you might consider undergoing an hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) blood test. This hormone, which the placenta produces shortly after a fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining, is vital in the early stages of pregnancy and acts as a primary indicator for confirming pregnancy. After conception, the developing placenta begins to produce hCG, which is usually detectable in blood and urine within 8–10 days post-ovulation and fertilization. The levels of hCG typically double every 48–72 hours during the early stages of pregnancy. A quantitative hCG blood test can measure the exact levels of hCG in the blood and can detect pregnancy earlier than urine tests, generally about 6–8 days post-ovulation. Additionally, this test can provide information on the progression of the pregnancy through the monitoring of hCG levels. Test results are typically back within 36-48 hours (this may be longer when taken at the weekend) Add on - You can also add on other hormones to this test including Progesterone and Oestrogen for £40 each
